How to start an assessment

Starting an assessment with The NeckCare System™ involves adding a patient, selecting the tests, connecting the sensor, and guiding the patient through each procedure. This guide walks you through each step.

Step 1: Add or Select a Patient

  • Log in at app.neckcare.com.

  • Click Patients icon on the left.

  • To add a new patient:

    • Click Add Patient

    • Generate a patient identifier

    • Fill in required fields (marked with *)

    • Click Save

  • To select an existing patient:

    • Find and click the patient’s name in the patient list by "Quickly navigating" using the search bar.

Step 2: Start a New Assessment

  1. In the patient’s view, click the Assessments tab.

  2. Click Create Assessment

  3. Select which tests to include:

    • Symptoms
    • Range of Motion

    • Joint Position Error

    • Butterfly Test

  4. To change test order:

    • Drag and drop the test names or icons

  5. To randomize order

    • Check the Randomize Order box

6. Press "Next Step"

Step 3: Connect the Sensor

  1. Power ON the NeckCare™ sensor (hold ON/OFF button for 2 seconds)

  2. Make sure only one sensor is active (blinking yellow)

  3. Place the headgear on a flat surface—do not touch it during this step

  4. In the platform, click the sensor icon (top-right corner)

  5. Click "Connect" in the upper right corner

  6. Select Movella DOT, then click Pair

  7. Once connected:

    • LED blinks green every 10 seconds

    • On-screen message will confirm: “Sensor is now connected.”

⚠️ If battery is below 10%, you’ll be prompted to recharge before continuing.

Step 4: Perform Basic Calibration

  • Basic calibration needs to be performed every time you connect the sensor

  • Leave the headgear stationary during calibration

  • Progress bar will show calibration status

  • When complete, a checkmark will appearconnect sensor

❌ If an error occurs, disconnect the sensor, restart it, and try again.

Step 5: Position Your Patient

  • Seat the patient in a firm-backed chair, feet flat, arms resting in lap

  • Follow test-specific positioning:

    • Butterfly Test: Face monitor at eye level, ~90 cm away

    • Other tests: Face monitor or blank wall, as preferred

  • Fit the headgear snugly (sensor port facing back)

  • Ensure the headgear does not move when the patient moves

Step 6: Begin Testing

  • Press Start Assessment when the patient is ready

  • Follow the on-screen prompts for each test

  • Instruct the patient clearly and monitor for trunk compensation

  • Results are saved automatically after each trial

Step 7: Finish the Session


Go to the Assessment Page to review, compare results, or generate reports.
